SmartX Brokerage Event
The 2nd Brokerage Event to promote the third and last SmartX call took place on December 9, 2020 via video conference.
The webinar was attended by 73 stakeholders (future applicants, consortium partners, and speakers). Like the previous edition, the event was divided into two different panels, preceded by a presentation of the SmartX programme by the Project Coordinator.
The first panel was dedicated to existing technologies for smart textiles manufacturing, thanks to Alexander Behm from Stoll – a leading global manufacturer of knitting machines – who gave a brilliant presentation on knitting technologies available for smart textiles; as well as Melanie Hoerr from ZSK Stickmaschinen and her excellent state of the art on embroidery technology for smart textiles manufacturing, including real cases.
Next, SmartX Selection Committee member Daniela Zavec from Titera spoke about success stories and key lessons from smart textiles innovators. An interactive Q&A session among panelists and participants followed.
The second panel of the event focused on the launch of the third and final SmartX funding call, encouraging future applicants to submit their project ideas.
After an overview of the call by programme coordinators, it was time to present of one of the funded SMEs from the second call, Austral Sports SA. This part was much appreciated by the event participants, as Austral openly discussed their experience with the audience and shared tips for future applicants. It also encouraged them to take part in pitching sessions organised by the SmartX team.
To conclude the event, SmartX Selection Committee João Gomes from CeNTI summarised lessons learnt from two previous Selection Committee meetings to give advice and tips to future applicants.
